Lumigen HyPerBlu
Lumigen HyPerBlu is a ready-to-use chemiluminescent substrate for the direct detection of hydrogen peroxide. It enables one-step quantitation of oxidase substrates when coupled with oxidase enzymes and delivers rapid, sustained, high-intensity light output.
- Performance Profile: Detects hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂), a common byproduct of many biological reactions. In the presence of hydrogen peroxide, the reagent produces bright luminescence, allowing indirect measurement of analytes such as glucose or cholesterol through enzyme coupling.
- Applications: Designed for biotech and diagnostic laboratories developing oxidase-based assays, including glucose and cholesterol tests, that require simple, one-step chemiluminescent detection.

Lumigen HyPerBlu Description
Lumigen HyPerBlu is a novel chemiluminescent substrate designed for the direct, non-enzymatic detection of hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂). Unlike traditional peroxide detection systems that require horseradish peroxidase or other coupling enzymes, Lumigen HyPerBlu reacts directly with hydrogen peroxide to generate a rapid, high-intensity chemiluminescent signal. This streamlined chemistry simplifies assay design while maintaining excellent analytical sensitivity.
The reagent delivers bright, sustained light output across a broad dynamic range, making it well-suited for quantitative solution-based assays. Its strong luminescent response supports precise measurement of hydrogen peroxide concentrations and enables consistent performance in microplate-based detection systems.
In addition to direct hydrogen peroxide detection, Lumigen HyPerBlu enables one-step indirect quantitation of oxidase enzymes and their corresponding substrates. Many biologically and clinically relevant oxidase reactions generate hydrogen peroxide as a byproduct. By detecting the peroxide produced, Lumigen HyPerBlu allows indirect measurement of enzymes such as glucose oxidase, cholesterol oxidase, xanthine oxidase, uricase, galactose oxidase, glutamate oxidase, monoamine oxidase, and choline oxidase, as well as their associated substrates including glucose, cholesterol, uric acid, hypoxanthine, dopamine, and related analytes.
This versatility makes Lumigen HyPerBlu an ideal reagent for biochemical research, assay development, and diagnostic applications that rely on oxidase-based detection strategies. Supplied as a single, ready-to-use formulation, Lumigen HyPerBlu supports simplified workflows while delivering the high sensitivity and signal stability expected from Lumigen’s chemiluminescent technologies.
Invented, developed, and manufactured by Lumigen, Lumigen HyPerBlu reflects decades of expertise in visible-light detection chemistry for research and diagnostic applications.
