Lumigen has extensive experience in large scale synthesis and formulation of chemiluminescent reagents. These reagents are used in state-of-the-art medical diagnostic applications. The following are some examples of the use of Lumigen chemiluminescent reagents in clinical diagnostics.

Lumi-Phos 530 is used as the detection reagent in the Access® Immunoassay Analyzer from Beckman Coulter.

Over 70 tests are available in Thyroid, Fertility, Anemia, Cardiovascular, Metabolic, Diabetes, Tumor Markers, Allergy, Infectious Disease, Proteins and Blood Virus.

Lumigen PPD and a proprietary enhancer are incorporated in the chemiluminescent detection reagent used in the Immulite® Immunoassay Analyzer family from Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics.

Over 70 tests are available in Allergy, Anemia, Bone Metabolism, Cytokines, Drugs of Abuse, Reproductive Hormones, Infectious Disease, TDMs, Thyroid Function, Tumor Markers, Veterinary and Other Analytes with several more under development.

Lumi-Phos 530 and Lumi-Phos Plus are used as detection reagents in the VERSANT® branched DNA (bDNA) assays of Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics for HIV viral load monitoring as well as Hepatitis B and C virus assays.


Lumi-Phos 530 is used as the detection reagent in the Hybrid Capture assays of Digene Diagnostics. Digene tests include:

  • Hybrid Capture System HPV DNA Assay (HCS HPV) for detection of human papillomavirus
  • Hybrid Capture System CMV DNA Assay (HCS CMV) for detection of cytomegalovirus
  • Hybrid Capture System HBV DNA Assay (HCS HBV) for detection of hepatitis B virus

Lumi-Phos 530 is used as the detection reagent in the new VIDIA immunoanalyzer recently launched by bioMerieux.

VIDIA will provide an extensive reagent menu, covering the fields of infectious diseases (toxoplasmosis, rubella, cytomegalovirus, HIV, hepatitis, Epstein Barr virus, syphilis, varicella, Lyme disease) as well as hormones (thyroid function, fertility), cancer (tumor markers) and the diagnosis of anemia.

Lumi-Phos 530 is used as the detection reagent in the new Olympus AU3000i immunoanalyzer.

The AU3000i will provide high throughput at 240 tests per hour. Test panels under development include thyroid, fertility, tumor and cardiac markers in addition to allergy and anemia testing.
